In Calgary the housing starts were soaring by as much as 57.8% in comparision to June of 2009. However it is no surprise that things have come to a bit of a stand still in July. During the summer months the real estate market often slows down due to families and buyers heading out of town. If the real estate market remains strong throught the first to quarter it is common to see strong sales in September as buyers flood the market in their last attempt to buy before the cold winter months. Calgary historically has predicatable peaks and valleys throughout the year only to be altered by major economical events such as recessions and real estate booms.
Currently market conditions favor buyers with historically low interest rates and large supplies of great real estate.
